CITY TOUR
This tour will allow to know professionally the different places that comprise the historical center of the city, as well as the main viewpoints that surround the city of Arequipa. Having a pleasant time of walk and at the same time of cultural information of the city of Arequipa. It begins in the historic center, taking a walk through the main places of free admission with colonial architecture. After that we go by private car with guide on board to the main viewpoints of Arequipa, with a good view and with a lot of history, to know a little more details also the surroundings and also the current situation of the white city of Arequipa.
RUTA DEL SILLAR
We will start this tour at our meeting point. We will start the Sillar Route leaving the city towards the Añashuayco quarry. Here the guide will give us a series of explanations about the extraction process of the sillar, stone with which most of the constructions around the main square of Arequipa were made. Also, we will have access to information about the carving, carving and mega carving carried out by the master stonemasons.
Later, we will go to the Culebrillas ravine, a quarry that is not in exploitation, but we will be able to walk for 20 minutes through a small canyon formed by water erosion. At the end of the tour, we will see some petroglyphs that we can admire and photograph while our guide gives us some explanations. Then, we will return to Arequipa to finish the tour.
CAÑON DEL COLCA
DAY 1 Arequipa – Colca Canyon
The mobility passes by your hotel to start our trip to one of the deepest canyons in the world, taking the road to Yura, bordering the snowy Chachani to pampa Cañahuas (National Reserve of Aguada Blanca and Salinas) habitat of the beautiful South American camelids, the vicuñas. In the bofedales de tocra we will be able to appreciate a variety of migratory birds, among which are the flamingos. We will pass through the crater of an extinct volcano (Chucura). We will stop at the viewpoint of the volcanoes, which is also the highest area of the road (4,910 m.a.s.l.) from where we will be able to appreciate a great part of the western mountain range.
At noon we will arrive to Chivay – Colca where we will be transferred to the hotel.
During the afternoon we will enjoy the thermal baths in whose thermo-medicinal waters oscillate between 35º to 38º Celsius degrees of temperature in the pools.
DAY 2 Colca Canyon – Arequipa
We will go to the viewpoint of the cross of the condor, strategic observation point of the canyon and the spectacular flight of the condor. On the way back we will stop in the villages of Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque, which have beautiful colonial churches, as well as in the viewpoints of choquetico and antahuilque, from where we will observe the impressive terraces of the valley, the pre-Inca tombs and models.
The return trip to the city of Arequipa will be arriving at approximately 4:00 p.m.
